After March 10th, the next administration of the Chemistry Placement Exam will be in August. Please check back here in July for August and September test dates.

This is a 45 minute test with 44 questions.

Parking permits are required. Follow the signs reading “Placement Exams” to the parking attendant who will provide you with a complimentary parking permit and direct you to your parking area and testing rooms. Please note that attendants are available with complimentary permits one hour prior to and up to the time that the test begins. Those arriving before or after the attendant will need to purchase a parking permit from a permit kiosk to avoid being ticketed.

There are a few ways in which a student can enroll in Chemistry 1A.

1) Eligibility to enroll in Calculus at UCR (Math 9A); either by passing the math placement exam or passing the Calculus AB or BC exam with a 3 or higher

OR

2) Pass Chemistry 1W

OR

3) Pass the Chemistry Placement exam

OR

4) Pass the Chemistry AP exam with a 3 or higher
