Interested in helping students make a successful transition into college or assisting peers who are having academic difficulty? If so, then consider applying for a S.M.A.R.T. Peer Educator position.

Duties:

Assist the needs of first year students in making a successful transition into the University setting. Provide assistance to students on academic probation. Teach student development and study skills workshops.

Selection criteria for the peer educator position includes:
  • A minimum 3.0 quarter and cumulative GPA
  • 90 units completed at time of application
  • Minimum of 3 consecutive quarters completed in residence at UCR
  • Successful completion of the Peer Educator Practicum training course with demonstrated abilities

Opportunities for employment during Summer 2007 may be available.

  1. Completed S.M.A.R.T. Peer Educator Application are available at the Learning Center front desk.
  2. Résumé of work experience
  3. One page statement of interest describing why you want to be a peer educator (typed, double spaced)
