Mission Statement

The mission of the Learning Center at the University of California, Riverside is to assist and empower students to succeed and excel academically, persist through graduation, prepare for graduate and professional endeavors, and develop an appreciation for lifelong learning.

Although the programs and services of the Learning Center are available to all students, particular attention is given to providing transitional support to freshmen, promoting educational equity, and helping “at risk” students.

The Learning Center actively seeks to optimize the quality of its services by mentoring students as service providers, ensuring that help is extended with a “personal touch”, maintaining cooperative partnerships with academic departments and working collaboratively with other student service units and the greater Riverside community.
