SMART  Programs professional counselors work with students receiving financial aid that are referred to the Learning Center by the Satisfactory Academic Progress (S.A.P.) appeal process.

UCR students who are receiving any type of financial aid are required to show satisfactory academic progress toward their degree objective in order to continue receiving financial aid. The specific requirements can be found at www.finaid.ucr.edu/SAP.html.

Students who have not satisfied the S.A.P. requirements have the opportunity to appeal the cancellation of their financial aid.

Use the appeal process to report:
  • Extenuating circumstances which prevented you from maintaining satisfactory academic progress
  • Grade changes
  • Part-time enrollment as approved by an academic advisor

If you are a student with a letter of referral from the Financial Aid Office, contact the Learning Center at (951) 827-3721.

For more financial aid information, visit the
UCR Financial Aid website.

Students on S.A.P., academic probation, or subject to dismissal status can benefit from the
